A simple procedure on how to backup your MySQL Database.

Backup your MySQL Database using MySQLDump command utility.

Login to your web server, and execute mysqldump command

Ex. mysqldump -u[db username] -p[db password] [database name] > [dump filename]

The db username and db password is your account credential to manage your database, the database name is your MySQL database, and the dump filename is your data saved backup.

Restoring MySQL Database

A simple procedure on how to restore your MySQL Database.

Restoring your MySQL Database using MySQLDump command utility.

Login to your web server, and execute mysqldump command

Ex. mysql -u[db username] -p[db password] [database name] < [dump filename]

The db username and db password is your account credential to manage your database, the database name is your MySQL database, and the dump filename is your data saved backup.

The backup and restore is a similar approach, the mysql use (<) less than sign to upload the dump file name.
